Inauguration Day

It is our pleasure to inform you that all Queens Collegiate students will have the unique opportunity to watch President-Elect Barack Obama’s swearing-in ceremony.  He will be sworn in as the 44th President of the United States of America.  This is an historic event, as President-Elect Obama is the first African American to serve in this capacity.

Our schedule for the day is as follows:

Period 1: Advisory

Period 2-3: Normal Classes

Period 4-6: Inaugural proceedings and lunch

Period 7-8: Normal Classes

AIS: Normal Classes, with a meeting for students to discuss College Board’s contest for College Going Culture interviews.  Students who participate and are selected as winners will receive $50 gift certificates.

Please remember that students are required to maintain 90% attendance in order to pass the 9th grade and advance to the 10th grade.  Promotion in doubt letters will be sent home at the end of January.  Students who have failed to receive credit in courses, students who are not progressing towards the 9th grade standards, or students who do not attend 90% of the time, will receive promotion in doubt notices.

As always, feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.
